Welcome to Organizational Theorists views on The Devil Wears Prada! You will find on this site the views of four main organizational theorists who use their theories to look at the 2006 film the Devil Wears Prada, a film starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. This movie follows the story of Hathaway's character as she steps into the busy city of New York to find her dream job, only to find that she's been stuck with the devil. The organizational communications theorists will examine the organization of Runway Magazine in their own means of concepts that depend on their approach. These theorists include Henri Fayol, a French Classical theorist from the late 19th century to early twentieth century who speaks of the Elements of Management. Secondly, Karl Marx, a German Critical theorist from the 19th century. He examines the relationships between owners and workers in the capitalist society. The third theorists are Peters and Waterman, Cultural theorists who speaks about how important an organization's culture is and how that might benefit employees and efficient work flow. Lastly, Abraham Maslow to discuss the concepts of Human Resources & Human Relations that Runway possesses. Throughout the readings you will examine the movie the Devil Wears Prada through the eyes of these theorists.
